1 1 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY WARNSTADT
1 3 A Concurrent Resolution requesting the legislative
1 4 council to create an interim committee to review
1 5 licensure, certification, accreditation, and claim
1 6 processes relating to health care personnel, health
1 7 facilities, and health care services.
1 8 WHEREAS, various state agencies apply regulatory
1 9 requirements to health care personnel and to health
1 10 facilities and the requirements can be duplicative or
1 11 in conflict; and
1 12 WHEREAS, health care personnel and health
1 13 facilities are also subject to standards imposed by
1 14 professional and national accrediting organizations
1 15 and these standards may duplicate or be in conflict
1 16 with the standards imposed by state agencies; and
1 17 WHEREAS, the documentation used in the regulatory
1 18 process and in the processing of health care services
1 19 claims could be improved with greater standardization;
1 20 NOW THEREFORE,
1 21 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, THE
1 22 SENATE CONCURRING, That the legislative council is
1 23 requested to create an interim committee to review
1 24 licensure, certification, accreditation, and claim
1 25 processes relating to health care personnel, health
1 26 facilities and health care services, and to direct the
1 27 interim committee to submit a report with
1 28 recommendations and findings for consideration during
1 29 the 2003 legislative session; and
1 30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the interim committee
2 1 should be directed to consult with health care
2 2 personnel, health facilities, state agencies that
2 3 regulate health care personnel or health facilities,
2 4 purchasers of health care services, and others with an
2 5 interest in health care policy.
