1 3 #1. Page 23, by inserting after line 20, the
1 4 following:
1 5 "5A. A person required to be issued a construction
1 6 permit under this section must provide to the
1 7 department an occupational safety and health program,
1 8 in a manner required by the department. The program
1 9 must address issues associated with working in
1 10 confinement feeding operations, including all of the
1 11 following:
1 12 a. Medical surveillance.
1 13 b. Personal protective equipment.
1 14 c. An injury and illness prevention plan.
1 15 d. Engineering controls, including but not limited
1 16 to the installation of ventilation systems to reduce
1 17 hazardous exposures."
1 18 #2. Page 64, by inserting after line 6, the
1 19 following:
1 20 "Sec. . FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITION
1 21 AUTHORIZED. The department of natural resources shall
1 22 support one full-time equivalent position from moneys
1 23 deposited in the animal agriculture compliance fund
1 24 established pursuant to section 455B.127, as enacted
1 25 in this Act, as soon as practicable after March 1,
1 26 2003. The full-time equivalent position shall be used
1 27 to fund a United States occupational safety and health
1 28 administration consultant to assist in providing for
1 29 safety and health programs for persons working in
1 30 confinement feeding operations."
1 31 #3. By renumbering, redesignating, and correcting
1 32 internal references as necessary.
