1 2 #1. Page 26, by inserting after line 11, the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . MICROSOFT LAWSUIT. The general
1 5 assembly believes that the Iowa attorney general's
1 6 lawsuit against the Microsoft corporation is not in
1 7 the best interest of the state of Iowa and its
1 8 citizens, therefore, moneys from the general fund of
1 9 the state or any other funds available to the
1 10 department of justice shall not be used to pay for or
1 11 continue to support a lawsuit against the Microsoft
1 12 corporation."
1 13 #2. Page 32, by inserting after line 14 the
1 14 following:
1 15 "Sec. . EFFECTIVE DATE. The section of this
1 16 division of this Act relating to the Microsoft
1 17 lawsuit, being deemed of immediate importance, takes
1 18 effect upon enactment."
