1 2 #1. Page 31, by inserting after line 33, the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . TEACHER COMPENSATION. There is
1 5 appropriated from the Iowa economic emergency fund
1 6 created in section 8.55 to the department of education
1 7 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2002, and ending
1 8 June 30, 2003, the following amount, or so much
1 9 thereof as is necessary, to be used for the purposes
1 10 designated:
1 11 For purposes of teacher compensation under the
1 12 student achievement and teacher quality program
1 13 established pursuant to chapter 284:
1 14 .................................................. $ 32,250,000
1 15 Moneys appropriated in this section are declared to
1 16 be appropriated for emergency expenditures as required
1 17 in section 8.55, subsection 3, paragraph "a".
1 18 Funds appropriated in this subsection shall
1 19 supplement, not supplant, funds appropriated for the
1 20 student achievement and teacher quality program
1 21 pursuant to 2002 Iowa Acts, Senate File 2326, section
1 22 79, subsection 17, if enacted, and shall be
1 23 distributed as provided under section 284.13,
1 24 subsection 1, paragraphs "g" and "h"."
