  1  1    Amend House File 2614 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 16, line 28, by inserting after the word
  1  3 "year." the following:  "The department of education
  1  4 shall also explore the availability of federal funding
  1  5 for technology in education to determine whether
  1  6 federal moneys may be obtained by the state for
  1  7 distribution to school districts.  The department
  1  8 shall make every reasonable effort to obtain any
  1  9 federal funding available for those purposes and shall
  1 10 submit its conclusions in a report to the chairpersons
  1 11 and ranking members of the senate and house standing
  1 12 committees on education and the joint appropriations
  1 13 subcommittee on education by December 15, 2002."
