  1  1    Amend Senate File 2190, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 5, by inserting after line 5 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  Section 507E.3, subsection 2,
  1  6 unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2001, is amended to read
  1  7 as follows:
  1  8    A person commits a class "D" felony if the person,
  1  9 with the intent to defraud an insurer, does any of the
  1 10 following:
  1 11    Sec. ___.  Section 507E.3, subsection 2, Code 2001,
  1 12 is amended by adding the following new paragraphs:
  1 13    NEW PARAGRAPH.  d.  Makes a false statement or
  1 14 representation as to a material fact in the course of
  1 15 reporting, investigating, or adjusting a claim for any
  1 16 payment or any other benefit pursuant to an insurance
  1 17 policy.
  1 18    NEW PARAGRAPH.  e.  Makes a false statement or
  1 19 representation as to a material fact for the purpose
  1 20 of obtaining, maintaining, or renewing insurance that
  1 21 is required by law, whether for the person or for
  1 22 another person, or for the purpose of evading the
  1 23 requirements of the law."
