1 2 #1. Page 24, by inserting after line 28 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . IOWA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT
1 5 SYSTEM – FURLOUGH CREDIT. Notwithstanding any
1 6 provision of chapter 97B to the contrary, a member of
1 7 the Iowa public employees' retirement system who is
1 8 furloughed from state employment and receives a
1 9 reduction in the member's salary from state employment
1 10 as a result of the furlough can have the member's
1 11 retirement allowance calculated based on the salary
1 12 the member would have received if the member had not
1 13 been furloughed upon the payment by the member of an
1 14 applicable contribution amount as provided in this
1 15 section. For purposes of this section, the applicable
1 16 contribution amount is an amount equal to the employee
1 17 and employer contribution that would have been paid on
1 18 behalf of the member on the salary amount that the
1 19 member did not receive as a result of the furlough."
