1 5 "Sec. . GENERAL FUND. There is appropriated
1 6 from the Iowa economic emergency fund created in
1 7 section 8.55 to the general fund for the fiscal year
1 8 beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002, the
1 9 following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary,
1 10 to be used for the purpose designated:
1 11 For providing necessary funding to the general fund
1 12 of the state in order to prevent furlough or layoff of
1 13 officers and others providing public protection
1 14 services, members of the national guard, nurses,
1 15 hospital workers, prison guards, child protection
1 16 workers, and other state employees who all provide
1 17 important services to the people of Iowa:
