  1  1    Amend the amendment, H-1897, to Senate File 514, as
  1  2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 8, by striking lines 25 through 30, and
  1  5 inserting the following:  "commission shall select
  1  6 counties to participate in the pilot project based on
  1  7 population, property valuations, and other factors
  1  8 deemed appropriate by the commission.  If necessary to
  1  9 meet these participation requirements, the commission
  1 10 may solicit the participation of counties that have
  1 11 not adopted and forwarded a resolution to the
  1 12 commission.  No more than a total of five counties may
  1 13 participate in a pilot project under this part."
  1 14    #2.  Page 18, by striking lines 10 through 23.
  1 15    #3.  Page 18, by striking lines 34 through 40, and
  1 16 inserting the following:  "by September 1, 2001.  The
  1 17 commission shall select cities to participate in the
  1 18 pilot project based on population, property
  1 19 valuations, and other factors deemed appropriate by
  1 20 the commission.  If necessary to meet these
  1 21 participation requirements, the commission may solicit
  1 22 the participation of cities that have not adopted and
  1 23 forwarded a resolution to the commission.  No more
  1 24 than a total of five cities may participate in a pilot
  1 25 project under this division."
  1 26    #4.  By renumbering as necessary.
