  1  1    Amend Senate File 535, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 2, by striking lines 22 through 26.
  1  4    #2.  Page 24, by inserting after line 2, the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "Sec.    .  Section 261.85, Code 2001, is amended
  1  7 to read as follows:
  1  8    261.85  APPROPRIATION.
  1  9    There is appropriated from the general fund of the
  1 10 state to the commission for each fiscal year the sum
  1 11 of two million seven four hundred fifty eighty-six
  1 12 thousand three hundred eighty dollars for the work-
  1 13 study program.
  1 14    From moneys appropriated in this section, one
  1 15 million five three hundred fifty-six thousand two
  1 16 hundred eight dollars shall be allocated to
  1 17 institutions of higher education under the state board
  1 18 of regents and community colleges and the remaining
  1 19 dollars appropriated in this section shall be
  1 20 allocated by the commission on the basis of need as
  1 21 determined by the portion of the federal formula for
  1 22 distribution of work-study funds that relates to the
  1 23 current need of institutions."
