1 2 #1. Page 42, by inserting after line 21 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . MENTAL ILLNESS SPECIAL SERVICES. There
1 5 is appropriated from the general fund of the state to
1 6 the department of human services for the fiscal year
1 7 beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002, the
1 8 following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary,
1 9 to be used for the purpose designated:
1 10 For mental illness special services:
1 11 .................................................. $ 121,220
1 12 1. The department and the Iowa finance authority
1 13 shall continue the financing for existing community-
1 14 based facilities and the financing for the development
1 15 of affordable community-based housing facilities. The
1 16 department shall assure that clients are referred to
1 17 the housing as it is developed.
1 18 2. The funds appropriated in this section are to
1 19 provide funds for construction and start-up costs to
1 20 develop community living arrangements to provide for
1 21 persons with mental illness who are homeless. These
1 22 funds may be used to match federal Stewart B. McKinney
1 23 Homeless Assistance Act grant funds."
