Section 321.445, subsection 2, 1 6 unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2001, is amended to read 1 7 as follows: 1 8 The driver and front seat occupants of a type of 1 9 motor vehiclewhichthat is subject to registration in 1 10 Iowa, except a motorcycle or a motorized bicycle, 1 11 shall each wear a properly adjusted and fastened 1 12 safety belt or safety harness any time the vehicle is 1 13 in forward motion on a street or highway in this state 1 14 except that a child undersixthirteen years of age 1 15 shall be secured as required under section 321.446. 1 16 Sec. . Section 321.446, subsection 2, Code 1 17 2001, is amended to read as follows: 1 18 2. A child at least three years of age but under 1 19sixthirteen years of age who is being transported in 1 20 a motor vehicle subject to registration, except a 1 21 school bus or motorcycle, shall be secured during 1 22 transit by either a child restraint system that meets 1 23 federal motor vehicle safety standards and is used in 1 24 accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, or by 1 25 a safety belt or safety harness of a type approved 1 26 under section 321.445." 1 27 #2.
