  1  1    Amend Senate File 348, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 9, by inserting after line 26 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  256F.8A  ENROLLMENT
  1  6 NOTIFICATION.
  1  7    By January 1 of the preceding school year, the
  1  8 parent or guardian shall send notification to the
  1  9 district of residence, on forms prescribed by the
  1 10 department of education, that the parent or guardian
  1 11 intends to enroll the parent's or guardian's child in
  1 12 a pilot charter school.  A parent or guardian is
  1 13 exempt from this requirement if the parent can show
  1 14 good cause, as defined in section 282.18, for failure
  1 15 to make notification in accordance with this section."
