1 2 #1. Page 15, by inserting after line 35 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . NEW SECTION. 39.27 QUALIFICATIONS FOR
1 5 PUBLIC OFFICE.
1 6 Any person elected to an office under the laws of
1 7 this state shall be an eligible elector. At the time
1 8 an elected official takes office the official shall be
1 9 a resident of the state, district, county, township,
1 10 city, or ward by or for which the person was elected,
1 11 or in which the duties of the office are to be
1 12 exercised. An elected official shall continue to be a
1 13 resident of the state, district, county, township,
1 14 city, or ward by or for which the person was elected,
1 15 or in which the duties of the office are to be
1 16 exercised for the duration of the term of office.
1 17 This section shall not apply to United States senators
1 18 or representatives in Congress."
1 19 #2. Title page, line 1, by inserting after the
1 20 word "elections" the following: "and qualifications
1 21 of elected officials".
1 22 #3. By renumbering as necessary.
