  1  1    Amend House File 324 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 16 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  307.50  LOCAL COSTS OF
  1  5 HIGHWAY PROJECT BIDDING – APPROPRIATION.
  1  6    There is appropriated to the department annually
  1  7 from the general fund of the state an amount
  1  8 sufficient to cover city and county expenses
  1  9 associated with the competitive bidding requirements
  1 10 in section 314.1, subsection 2.  The department shall
  1 11 disburse funds to counties and cities to reimburse the
  1 12 counties and cities for the costs associated with
  1 13 compliance with the requirements.  The department
  1 14 shall adopt rules for the administration of this
  1 15 section."
  1 16    #2.  Title page, line 3, by striking the word
  1 17 "penalty" and inserting the following:  "penalty, an
  1 18 appropriation,".
  1 19    #3.  By renumbering and correcting internal
  1 20 references as necessary.
