  1  1    Amend House File 268 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 26 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  Section 805.8, subsection 2, paragraph
  1  5 g, subparagraph (4), Code 2001, is amended to read as
  1  6 follows:
  1  7    (4)  Notwithstanding subparagraphs (1) and (3), for
  1  8 excessive speed violations in speed zones greater than
  1  9 fifty-five miles per hour when in excess of the limit
  1 10 by five miles per hour or less the fine is ten twenty
  1 11 dollars, by more than five and not more than ten miles
  1 12 per hour the fine is twenty forty dollars, by more
  1 13 than ten and not more than fifteen miles per hour the
  1 14 fine is forty eighty dollars, by more than fifteen and
  1 15 not more than twenty miles per hour the fine is sixty
  1 16 one hundred twenty dollars, and by more than twenty
  1 17 miles per hour the fine is sixty one hundred twenty
  1 18 dollars plus two four dollars for each mile per hour
  1 19 of excessive speed over twenty miles per hour over the
  1 20 limit."
  1 21    #2.  Page 1, by inserting after line 26 the
  1 22 following:
  1 23    "Sec.    .  SPEEDING FINE INCREASES –
  1 24 APPROPRIATIONS FOR SAFETY, ENFORCEMENT, AND HEALTH-
  1 25 RELATED COSTS.  Notwithstanding sections 602.8106 and
  1 26 602.8108, any funds received annually resulting from
  1 27 the increase in fines for speeding under section
  1 28 805.8, subsection 2, paragraph "g", subparagraph (4),
  1 29 as amended by this Act, are appropriated and shall be
  1 30 available to the following agencies as follows:
  1 31    1.  Twenty percent of the funds to the department
  1 32 of public health for deposit in the emergency medical
  1 33 services fund.
  1 34    2.  Twenty percent of the funds to the department
  1 35 of public safety for increased enforcement measures.
  1 36    3.  Thirty percent of the funds to the state
  1 37 department of transportation for safety and
  1 38 intelligent transportation system efforts.
  1 39    4.  Thirty percent of the funds to the department
  1 40 of human services for the development of comprehensive
  1 41 treatment services for persons with brain or spinal
  1 42 cord injuries.
  1 43    The director of revenue and finance shall draw
  1 44 warrants upon the state treasury from the funds
  1 45 appropriated as provided in this section and shall
  1 46 make the funds resulting from the increase in fines
  1 47 available during the fiscal year to the appropriate
  1 48 departments on a monthly basis."
  1 49    #3.  Title page, line 3, by striking the word
  1 50 "highways." and inserting the following:  "highways,
  2  1 and increasing fines and making appropriations."
  2  2    #4.  By renumbering as necessary.
