  1  1    Section 1.  Section 805.8, subsection 2, paragraph ac, Code
  1  2 Supplement 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    ac.  For violations of sections 321.341, 321.342, 321.343,
  1  4 and 321.344, the scheduled fine is fifty one hundred dollars.  
  1  5                           EXPLANATION
  1  6    This bill doubles the fine from $50 to $100 for violations
  1  7 of Code provisions requiring vehicle operators to obey signals
  1  8 of the immediate approach of a train, stop signals and signs
  1  9 at railroad crossings, and certain stopping requirements at
  1 10 railroad crossings for certain vehicles carrying passengers
  1 11 for hire, school buses, vehicles carrying hazardous material,
  1 12 and heavy equipment.
