1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 262.76 ASSIGNMENT OF STUDENT
1 2 TEACHERS – ACCREDITED NONPUBLIC SCHOOLS.
1 3 The state board of regents shall adopt rules authorizing
1 4 approved practitioner preparation program faculty to assign a
1 5 student enrolled in the program to an accredited nonpublic
1 6 school for student teaching experience if the coursework and
1 7 the curriculum the student is assigned to teach are
1 8 nonsectarian, nonreligious, and would reasonably be expected
1 9 to be taught in any public school district in the state.
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill directs the state board of regents to adopt rules
1 12 authorizing practitioner preparation program faculty to assign
1 13 student teachers to an accredited nonpublic school for student
1 14 teaching experience if the coursework and the curriculum the
1 15 student is assigned to teach are nonsectarian, nonreligious,
1 16 and would reasonably be expected to be taught in any public
1 17 school district in the state.
