1 1 Section 1. Section 455B.190A, subsection 1, Code 1999, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new paragraph before paragraph
1 3 a:
1 4 NEW PARAGRAPH. aa. "Class 1 well" means a water well one
1 5 hundred feet or less in depth and eighteen inches or more in
1 6 diameter.
1 7 Sec. 2. Section 455B.190A, subsection 2, unnumbered
1 8 paragraph 1, Code 1999, is amended to read as follows:
1 9 The department shall establish a well contractor
1 10 certification program which shall not encompass well services
1 11 for class 1 wells. The program shall include all of the
1 12 following provisions:
1 13 EXPLANATION
1 14 This bill relates to the scope of the well contractor
1 15 certification program.
1 16 The bill provides that the program shall not encompass well
1 17 services for class 1 wells. The bill provides that a class 1
1 18 well is a water well 100 feet or less in depth and 18 inches
1 19 or more in diameter.
