  1  1    Section 1.  Section 151.1, subsection 3, Code 1999, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    3.  Persons utilizing differential diagnosis and procedures
  1  4 related thereto, withdrawing or ordering withdrawal of the
  1  5 patient's blood for diagnostic purposes, performing or
  1  6 utilizing routine laboratory tests, performing physical
  1  7 examinations, rendering nutritional advice, utilizing
  1  8 chiropractic physiotherapy modalities and procedures, all of
  1  9 which are subject to and authorized by section 151.8.
  1 10 However, a person engaged in the practice of chiropractic
  1 11 shall not profit from the sale of nutritional products
  1 12 coinciding with the nutritional advice rendered.  
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14    This bill provides for a change in terminology regarding
  1 15 authorized procedures included within the chiropractic scope
  1 16 of practice.  The utilization of chiropractic physiotherapy
  1 17 procedures is currently included within the chiropractic scope
  1 18 of practice.  The bill replaces this term with the term
  1 19 "chiropractic modalities and procedures" to differentiate the
  1 20 chiropractic scope of practice from that of the practice of
  1 21 physical therapy.
