  1  1    Section 1.  Section 455B.173, subsection 6, paragraph b,
  1  2 Code 1999, is amended by striking the paragraph.  
  1  3                           EXPLANATION
  1  4    This bill eliminates the requirement that the environmental
  1  5 protection commission develop rules requiring each public
  1  6 water system to test the source water of the supply for the
  1  7 presence of synthetic organic chemicals and pesticides every
  1  8 three years.
