1 1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY RIFE, McLAREN, HAMMOND, JOHNSON, McKIBBEN,
1 3 GASKILL, BOETTGER, FINK, KRAMER, and BEHN
1 4 A Senate Resolution congratulating the Iowa State
1 5 Cyclones Women's Gymnastics Team.
1 6 WHEREAS, Iowans are justly proud of the Iowa State
1 7 Cyclones Women's Gymnastics Team for winning the Big
1 8 12 Conference championship; and
1 9 WHEREAS, the Iowa State Women's Gymnastics Team
1 10 tied the Big 12 Conference scoring record to claim its
1 11 first conference championship in 23 years; and
1 12 WHEREAS, the Iowa State Women's Gymnastics Team had
1 13 all-conference performer honors in every event at the
1 14 championship and won the all-around all-conference
1 15 performer, setting a new Big 12 scoring record; and
1 16 WHEREAS, the Iowa State Women's Gymnastics Team
1 17 entered the NCAA Region 4 Gymnastics Championship as
1 18 the No. 2 seed and placed second, qualifying for
1 19 national competition for the first time in school
1 20 history; and
1 21 WHEREAS, Head Coach Amy Pyle was named Region 2
1 22 Head Coach of the Year in this, her eighth season at
1 23 Iowa State University, where she has led the last four
1 24 squads to the NCAA Regional Tournament, and has guided
1 25 Iowa State teams which have broken every team and
1 26 individual school record during her tenure; and
1 27 WHEREAS, the hard work and efforts of the team and
1 28 Head Coach Amy Pyle and the assistant coaches are
1 29 recognized and appreciated by all Iowans; NOW
1 30 THEREFORE,
2 1 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
2 2 congratulates the Iowa State Cyclones Women's
2 3 Gymnastics Team on the great success of their season
2 4 and wish the best of luck during the 2000 NCAA
2 5 National Gymnastics Competition.
