1 1 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. There is appropriated
1 2 from the general fund of the state to the department of
1 3 education for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, and
1 4 ending June 30, 2001, the following amount, or so much thereof
1 5 as is necessary, to be used for the purpose designated:
1 6 For the issuance of national board certification awards in
1 7 accordance with section 256.44:
1 8 .................................................. $ 1,700,000
1 9 Notwithstanding section 8.33, funds appropriated by this
1 10 section which remain unencumbered or unobligated at the close
1 11 of the fiscal year, shall not revert but shall be available
1 12 for expenditure for purposes of issuing national board
1 13 certification awards during the succeeding fiscal year.
1 14 EXPLANATION
1 15 This bill appropriates moneys from the general fund of the
1 16 state to the department of education for the issuance of
1 17 national board certification awards for fiscal year 2000-2001.
1 18 Any moneys remaining from the amount appropriated carry over
1 19 to the succeeding fiscal year for the issuance of national
1 20 board certification awards.
