1 1 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY – CRIME LAB.
1 2 There is appropriated from the general fund of the state to
1 3 the department of public safety for the fiscal year beginning
1 4 July 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001, the following amount,
1 5 or so much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the purpose
1 6 designated:
1 7 For the division of criminal investigation and bureau of
1 8 identification, including the state's contribution to the
1 9 peace officers' retirement, accident, and disability system
1 10 provided in chapter 97A in the amount of 17 percent of the
1 11 salaries for which the funds are appropriated, and to meet
1 12 federal fund matching requirements, to be used for nine
1 13 additional crime laboratory personnel:

1 15 EXPLANATION
1 16 This bill appropriates money from the general fund to the
1 17 department of public safety for the fiscal year beginning July
1 18 1, 2000, for use by the division of criminal investigation and
1 19 bureau of identification to hire nine additional crime
1 20 laboratory personnel.
