  1  4 RELATING TO THE PROHIBITION OF SHIPPING OR IMPORTING INTO THE
  1  5    STATE, OR THE OFFERING FOR SALE, SELLING, TRANSPORTING, DIS-
  1  6    TRIBUTING, OR POSSESSING WITHIN THE STATE, OF CIGARETTES AND 
  1  7    TOBACCO PRODUCTS WHICH WERE PREVIOUSLY EXPORTED FROM OR WHICH
  1  8    ARE MANUFACTURED FOR USE OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES, MAKING 
  1  9    PENALTIES APPLICABLE, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.  
  1 10 
  1 11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1 12 
  1 13    Section 1.  Section 453A.36, Code 1999, is amended by
  1 14 adding the following new subsection:
  1 15    NEW SUBSECTION.  8.  It is unlawful for a person to ship or
  1 16 import into the state, or to offer for sale, sell, distribute,
  1 17 transport, or possess within this state, cigarettes or tobacco
  1 18 products previously exported from or manufactured for use
  1 19 outside the United States.
  1 20    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1 21 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
