  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  147A.27A  INTRACRANIAL PRESSURE
  1  2 – GUIDELINES.
  1  3    The department shall adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A
  1  4 requiring a trauma care facility to use the American
  1  5 association of neurological surgeons guidelines for the
  1  6 monitoring of intracranial pressure of a person receiving
  1  7 trauma care for a head injury.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill directs the Iowa department of public health to
  1 10 adopt rules to require trauma care facilities to use the
  1 11 American association of neurological surgeons guidelines for
  1 12 the monitoring of intracranial pressure of a person who is
  1 13 receiving trauma care for a head injury.
