1 1 Section 1. There is appropriated from the rebuild Iowa
1 2 infrastructure fund to the department of corrections for the
1 3 designated fiscal years, the following amounts, or so much
1 4 thereof as is necessary, to be used for the purposes
1 5 designated:
1 6 1. For planning, design, and construction of a new central
1 7 power plant at the correctional facility at Rockwell City:
1 8 1999-2000 FY ..................................... $ 2,000,000
1 9 2. For planning, design, and construction of a 200-bed
1 10 expansion at the correctional facility in Rockwell City:
1 11 1999-2000 FY ..................................... $ 4,000,000
1 12 3. For planning, design, and construction of a new dining
1 13 hall and kitchen and for expansion of the control center,
1 14 armory, training room, and visitor's center at the
1 15 correctional facility at Rockwell City:
1 16 2000-2001 FY ..................................... $ 2,000,000
1 17 Notwithstanding section 8.33, funds appropriated in this
1 18 section shall remain available for expenditure for the
1 19 purposes designated until June 30, 2003. Unencumbered or
1 20 unobligated funds remaining on June 30, 2003, from funds
1 21 appropriated in this section shall revert to the rebuild Iowa
1 22 infrastructure fund on August 31, 2003.
1 23 EXPLANATION
1 24 This bill makes appropriations to the department of
1 25 corrections from the rebuild Iowa infrastructure fund for
1 26 planning, design, and construction of a new central power
1 27 plant and a 200-bed expansion at the Rockwell City
1 28 correctional facility in the 1999-2000 fiscal year and for
1 29 planning, design, and construction of a new dining hall and
1 30 kitchen and expansion of other facilities at the Rockwell City
1 31 correctional facility in the 2000-2001 fiscal year.
