  1  1    Section 1.  Section 37.10, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code
  1  2 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    Each commissioner, except for a memorial hospital, shall be
  1  4 an honorably discharged soldier, sailor, marine, airman, or
  1  5 coast guard member and be a resident of the county in which
  1  6 the memorial hall or monument is located.  Each commissioner
  1  7 for a memorial hospital shall be a resident of the county in
  1  8 which the memorial hospital is located.  
  1  9                           EXPLANATION 
  1 10    This bill removes the requirement that commissioners for a
  1 11 city, county, or joint memorial hospital be an honorably
  1 12 discharged soldier, sailor, marine, airman, or coast guard
  1 13 member.
