  1  1    Amend House File 2555, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 3, by inserting after line 16 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "The department of human services shall work with
  1  6 private agency providers of child welfare and juvenile
  1  7 justice services in developing a plan to raise the
  1  8 staff compensation levels for such providers to a
  1  9 level consistent with the compensation levels of
  1 10 comparable state staff positions.  The plan shall
  1 11 provide for the compensation levels to become
  1 12 consistent by the close of the fiscal year beginning
  1 13 July 1, 2003.  The plan shall be submitted to the
  1 14 governor and the general assembly on or before
  1 15 November 1, 2000."
