  1  1    Amend the House amendment, S-5368, to Senate File
  1  2 419, as amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate,
  1  3 as follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 1, by striking lines 16 through 32 and
  1  5 inserting the following:
  1  6    "#   .  Page 1, line 14, by inserting before the
  1  7 word "This" the following:  "For the fiscal year
  1  8 beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002, the
  1  9 department shall retain fees collected to administer
  1 10 the program of certifying veterinary clinics and the
  1 11 fees retained are appropriated to the department for
  1 12 the purposes of this subsection.  For the fiscal year
  1 13 beginning July 1, 2001, and ending June 30, 2002,
  1 14 notwithstanding section 8.33, fees which remain
  1 15 unexpended at the end of the fiscal year shall not
  1 16 revert to the general fund of the state but shall be
  1 17 available for use for the following fiscal year to
  1 18 administer the program.  For the fiscal year beginning
  1 19 July 1, 2002, and succeeding fiscal years,
  1 20 certification fees shall be deposited in the general
  1 21 fund of the state and are appropriated to the
  1 22 department to administer the certification provisions
  1 23 of this subsection.""
  1 24    #2.  Page 1, by inserting after line 32 the
  1 25 following:
  1 26    "#   .  Page 1, by inserting after line 17 the
  1 27 following:
  1 28    "Sec.    .  CERTIFICATION PROGRAM REPORT.  The
  1 29 board of veterinary medicine shall, prior to the
  1 30 implementation of the veterinary clinic certification
  1 31 program pursuant to section 1 of this Act, submit a
  1 32 report to the general assembly prior to January 1,
  1 33 2001, regarding the status of the board's development
  1 34 of the certification program.  The report shall
  1 35 include the criteria to be used for certification, the
  1 36 methods and procedures to be used in the certification
  1 37 process, the anticipated cost of operating the
  1 38 certification program, the estimated certification fee
  1 39 to be charged each clinic, and the general manner of
  1 40 implementation of the program.
  1 41    Sec.    .  EFFECTIVE DATE.  Section 1 of this Act,
  1 42 amending section 169.5, takes effect July 1, 2001.""
