1 2 #1. Page 3, by inserting after line 19 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "3. The department shall begin the process of
1 5 establishing a pharmaceutical assistance program for
1 6 the elderly during the fiscal year beginning July 1,
1 7 2000, and ending June 30, 2001. The program shall be
1 8 implemented only in the event that a federal
1 9 pharmaceutical assistance program for the elderly is
1 10 not established during the United States Congress that
1 11 is in session during 2000. If the program is
1 12 implemented, the program shall commence no sooner than
1 13 July 1, 2001, and shall apply to single individuals
1 14 with an adjusted gross income not exceeding $16,000,
1 15 or married individuals with an adjusted gross income
1 16 not exceeding $25,000."
