  1  1    Amend Senate File 2013 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 4, by striking line 30 and inserting the
  1  3 following:  "subsection 1, unnumbered paragraphs 1 and
  1  4 2, and subsection 5, unnumbered paragraphs 1 and 2,
  1  5 are amended to read as follows:"
  1  6    #2.  Page 4, line 31, by striking the figure "1."
  1  7    #3.  Page 5, line 3, by striking the figure "5."
  1  8    #4.  Page 6, by striking lines 15 though 26.
  1  9    #5.  Page 10, by inserting after line 13 the
  1 10 following:
  1 11    "Sec.    .  1999 Iowa Acts, chapter 208, section
  1 12 23, subsection 2, is amended to read as follows:
  1 13    2.  For a contract to purchase internet
  1 14 connectivity from an internet service provider which
  1 15 provides internet filter filtering services for school
  1 16 districts who wish to receive such services:  
  1 17 .................................................. $     50,000
  1 18    The department of education shall work with the
  1 19 boards of directors of school districts and area
  1 20 education agencies in establishing service
  1 21 requirements and selecting an internet service
  1 22 provider to provide internet filter filtering services
  1 23 through servers located at the area education
  1 24 agencies.  The goal of providing a filtering service
  1 25 services to a school district is to protect students
  1 26 from inappropriate internet websites and to promote
  1 27 the use of the internet for educational purposes.
  1 28 School districts that wish to receive filtering
  1 29 services shall assume the ongoing costs of associated
  1 30 with the services."
  1 31    #6.  By renumbering as necessary.
