  1  1    Amend House File 737, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the House, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 15, by inserting after line 17 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "10.  STATUS OF ASIAN PACIFIC ISLANDERS STUDY.  The
  1  6 department of human rights shall conduct a study of
  1  7 the status of persons of Asian Pacific Islander
  1  8 descent in the state of Iowa.  The study shall focus
  1  9 on the areas of education, language development,
  1 10 employment, human rights, health, housing, and social
  1 11 welfare.  The director of the department of human
  1 12 rights shall submit a report of findings and
  1 13 recommendations based on the study to the general
  1 14 assembly by January 1, 2000."
