1 3 #1. Page 12, by striking lines 3 through 5.
1 4 #2. Page 12, by striking lines 26 through 32 and
1 5 inserting the following:
1 6 "b. It is the intent of the general assembly to
1 7 comply with the United States congress' intent to
1 8 provide education that promotes abstinence from sexual
1 9 activity outside of marriage and reduces pregnancies,
1 10 by focusing efforts on those persons most likely to
1 11 bear children out of wedlock."
1 12 #3. Page 18, by inserting after line 11 the
1 13 following:
1 14 "Sec. . Section 216A.92A, subsection 2, Code
1 15 1999, is amended to read as follows:
1 16 2. Commission members shall serve three-year terms
1 17 which shall begin and end pursuant to section 69.19,
1 18 and shall serve the entire term even if the member
1 19 experiences a change in the status which resulted in
1 20 their appointment under subsection 1. Vacancies on
1 21 the commission shall be filled for the remainder of
1 22 the term of the original appointment. Members whose
1 23 terms expire may be reappointed. Members of the
1 24 commission shall receive actual expenses for their
1 25 services. Members may also be eligible to receive
1 26 compensation as provided in section 7E.6. Members as
1 27 specified under subsection 1, paragraph "c", however,
1 28 shall receive per diem compensation as provided in
1 29 section 7E.6 and actual expenses. The membership of
1 30 the commission shall also comply with the political
1 31 party affiliation and gender balance requirements of
1 32 sections 69.16 and 69.16A."
1 33 #4. Page 18, by inserting after line 20 the
1 34 following:
1 35 " . Of the funds appropriated in subsection 1,
1 36 $20,000 shall be transferred to the office of the
1 37 auditor of state to perform an audit of the gambling
1 38 treatment program. The results of the audit shall be
1 39 reported to the members of the general assembly by
1 40 January 1, 2000."
1 41 #5. Page 18, by striking lines 21 and 22 and
1 42 inserting the following:
1 43 "3. Funds which remain after the allocations in
1 44 subsections 2 and 3, if any, shall be allocated for
1 45 funding of administrative costs and".
1 46 #6. Page 18, by striking lines 33 through 35 and
1 47 inserting the following: "sum wagered by the pari-
1 48 mutuel method is appropriated to the Iowa department
1 49 of public health for the sole purpose of funding the
1 50 position of deputy state medical examiner, contingent
2 1 upon the passage of 1999 Iowa Acts, Senate File 376.
2 2 The full-time equivalent position authorizations in
2 3 this Act for the Iowa department of public health
2 4 shall be increased by 1.00 FTE position if 1999 Iowa
2 5 Acts, Senate File 376, is enacted. Moneys
2 6 appropriated in this section that remain unencumbered
2 7 or unobligated at the close of the fiscal year shall
2 8 be credited to the general fund of the state."
