  1  1    Section 1.  Section 99D.21, Code 1999, is amended to read
  1  2 as follows:
  1  3    99D.21  ANNUAL REPORT OF COMMISSION.
  1  4    The commission shall make an annual report to the governor,
  1  5 for the period ending December 31 of each preceding fiscal
  1  6 year beginning July 1 and ending the succeeding June 30.
  1  7 Included in the report shall be The report shall be filed as
  1  8 soon as practicable after June 30 of each year and shall
  1  9 include an account of the commission's actions, its financial
  1 10 position and results of operation under this chapter, the
  1 11 practical results attained under this chapter, and any
  1 12 recommendations for legislation which the commission deems
  1 13 advisable.
  1 14    Sec. 2.  Section 99F.14, Code 1999, is amended to read as
  1 15 follows:
  1 16    99F.14  ANNUAL REPORT OF COMMISSION.
  1 17    The commission shall make an annual report to the governor,

  1 27                           EXPLANATION
  1 28    The bill changes the reporting period for the annual pari-
  1 29 mutuel and gambling game reports of the state racing and
  1 30 gaming commission from a calendar year basis to a fiscal year
  1 31 basis from July 1 through the succeeding June 30.  The bill
  1 32 requires that the commission's annual reports be filed with
  1 33 the governor's office as soon as practicable after June 30 of
  1 34 each year.
