1 3 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS. There is
1 4 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
1 5 department of corrections for the fiscal year beginning July
1 6 1, 1998, and ending June 30, 1999, to supplement the
1 7 appropriation made in 1998 Iowa Acts, chapter 1222, section 4,
1 8 subsection 1, paragraph "e", the following amount, or so much
1 9 thereof as is necessary, to be used for the purpose
1 10 designated:
1 11 For the operation of the Mt. Pleasant correctional
1 12 facility:
1 13 .................................................. $ 1,793,756
1 14 Sec. 2. DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES. There is
1 15 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
1 16 department of general services for the fiscal year beginning
1 17 July 1, 1998, and ending June 30, 1999, to supplement the
1 18 appropriations made in 1998 Iowa Acts, chapter 1217, section
1 19 5, subsections 4 and 6, the following amounts, or so much
1 20 thereof as is necessary, to be used for the purposes
1 21 designated:
1 22 1. RENTAL SPACE
1 23 For payment of lease or rental costs of buildings and
1 24 office space at the seat of government as provided in section
1 25 18.12, subsection 9, notwithstanding section 18.16:

1 27 2. TERRACE HILL OPERATIONS
1 28 For salaries, support, maintenance, and miscellaneous
1 29 purposes necessary for the operation of Terrace Hill and for
1 30 not more than the following full-time equivalent position:

1 33 Sec. 3. GOVERNOR AND LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR. There is
1 34 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the offices
1 35 of the governor and lieutenant governor for the fiscal year
2 1 beginning July 1, 1998, and ending June 30, 1999, to
2 2 supplement the appropriation made in 1998 Iowa Acts, chapter
2 3 1217, section 7, subsection 1, the following amount, or so
2 4 much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the purposes
2 5 designated:
2 6 GENERAL OFFICE
2 7 For salaries, support, maintenance, and miscellaneous
2 8 purposes, including vacation and leave payout for departing
2 9 staff, for the general office of the governor and the general
2 10 office of the lieutenant governor:

2 12 Sec. 4. DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES. There is
2 13 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
2 14 department of human services for the fiscal year beginning
2 15 July 1, 1998, and ending June 30, 1999, to supplement the
2 16 appropriation made in 1998 Iowa Acts, chapter 1218, section
2 17 31, the following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary,
2 18 to be used for the purposes designated:
2 19 For costs associated with the commitment and treatment of
2 20 sexually violent predators and for salaries and support for
2 21 not more than the following full-time equivalent positions:
2 22 .................................................. $ 580,000
2 23 ............................................... FTEs 26.50
2 24 Sec. 5. DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES. There is
2 25 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
2 26 department of natural resources for the fiscal year beginning
2 27 July 1, 1998, and ending June 30, 1999, the following amount,
2 28 or so much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the purpose
2 29 designated:
2 30 For the value of sick leave payout that needs to be paid
2 31 out due to retirement of personnel in the parks and preserves
2 32 division:
2 33 .................................................. $ 200,000
2 34 Sec. 6. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH. There is
2 35 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the board
3 1 of dental examiners of the department of public health for the
3 2 fiscal year beginning July 1, 1998, and ending June 30, 1999,
3 3 the following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to
3 4 be used for the purpose designated:
3 5 For the board of dental examiners to pay the necessary
3 6 expenses of the members of the dental hygiene committee
3 7 created in section 153.33A:
3 8 .................................................. $ 42,000
3 9 DIVISION II
3 10 REBUILD IOWA INFRASTRUCTURE FUND
3 11 Sec. 7. DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES. There is
3 12 appropriated from the rebuild Iowa infrastructure fund to the
3 13 division of information technology services of the department
3 14 of general services for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
3 15 1998, and ending June 30, 1999, to supplement the moneys in
3 16 the reversion incentive program fund as provided in 1997 Iowa
3 17 Acts, chapter 210, section 10, the following amount, or so
3 18 much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the purpose
3 19 designated:
3 20 For the replacement of noncompliant year 2000 embedded
3 21 chips in the technology and equipment of state departments:
3 22 .................................................. $ 2,435,000
3 23 Moneys appropriated in this section shall be deposited into
3 24 the reversion incentive program fund created pursuant to 1997
3 25 Iowa Acts, chapter 210, section 10.
3 26 Notwithstanding section 8.33, moneys appropriated in this
3 27 section which remain unobligated or unencumbered shall not
3 28 revert at the end of the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1998,
3 29 but shall remain available for the purpose designated until
3 30 June 30, 2001, and any unobligated or unencumbered moneys
3 31 remaining on that date shall be credited to the general fund
3 32 of the state on August 31, 2001.
3 33 DIVISION III
3 34 OTHER FUNDS
3 35 Sec. 8. DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES. There is
4 1 appropriated from the state fish and game protection fund
4 2 created in section 456A.17 to the department of natural
4 3 resources for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1998, and
4 4 ending June 30, 1999, the following amount, or so much thereof
4 5 as is necessary, to be used for the purpose designated:
4 6 For the value of sick leave pay that needs to be paid out
4 7 due to retirement of personnel in the fish and wildlife
4 8 division:
4 9 .................................................. $ 150,000
4 10 DIVISION IV
4 11 EFFECTIVE DATE
4 12 Sec. 9. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of
4 13 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
4 14 EXPLANATION
4 15 The bill makes supplemental appropriations from the state
4 16 general fund, rebuild Iowa infrastructure fund, and fish and
4 17 game protection fund to the departments of corrections,
4 18 general services, human services, natural resources, and
4 19 public health and the general offices of the governor and
4 20 lieutenant governor.
4 21 The bill takes effect upon enactment.
