1 1 Section 1. Section 811.12, subsection 2, Code 1999, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new paragraph:
1 3 NEW PARAGRAPH. d. The person is a bail enforcement agent
1 4 exempt from licensing requirements pursuant to section 80A.2,
1 5 subsection 3.
1 6 EXPLANATION
1 7 The bill adds a paragraph to Code section 811.12,
1 8 subsection 2, which was enacted in 1998. The new paragraph
1 9 provides that an individual who works as a bail enforcement
1 10 agent exclusively for one employer in connection with the bail
1 11 bond business of that employer is entitled to operate as a
1 12 bail enforcement agent, although not individually licensed.
1 13 The addition is consistent with Code section 80A.2, subsection
1 14 3, which exempts from licensing a person "employed full or
1 15 part-time by one employer in connection with the affairs of
1 16 the employer".
