  1 19 A House Resolution congratulating the Drake Women's
  1 20    Basketball Team.
  1 21    WHEREAS, the fans of Drake University and the
  1 22 citizens of Iowa are greatly pleased that the Drake
  1 23 Women's Basketball Team had a spectacular season in
  1 24 compiling a 23-7 record and its fourth consecutive 20-
  1 25 victory season; and
  1 26    WHEREAS, the Drake Women's Basketball Team made its
  1 27 fans and all Iowans proud by receiving a bid as an
  1 28 eighth seed in the Women's NCAA Tournament; and
  1 29    WHEREAS, the Drake Women's Basketball Team thrilled
  1 30 its fans and delighted the citizens of Iowa by
  2  1 finishing first in the Missouri Valley conference with
  2  2 a conference record of 15-3 and by winning the
  2  3 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship;
  2  4 and
  2  5    WHEREAS, the citizens of Iowa recognize the
  2  6 academic accomplishments of the Drake Women's
  2  7 Basketball Team for having the eighth highest grade
  2  8 point average in the United States at 3.34; and
  2  9    WHEREAS, the citizens of Iowa recognize the Drake
  2 10 Women's Basketball Team as mythical State Champions,
  2 11 with victories over the University of Iowa, the
  2 12 University of Northern Iowa, and Iowa State
  2 13 University; and
  2 14    WHEREAS, the citizens of Iowa applaud Drake Women's
  2 15 Basketball Head Coach Lisa Bluder for her outstanding
  2 16 coaching and for being a fine role model for her
  2 17 players and basketball fans around the state; NOW
  2 18 THEREFORE,
  2 19    BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
  2 20 That the House of Representatives congratulates Coach
  2 21 Lisa Bluder and the Drake Women's Basketball Team on
  2 22 their successful season and thanks them for the honor
  2 23 and excitement they brought to the State of Iowa.
