1 1 That the General Assembly and the Governor of the State of
1 2 Iowa affirm their commitment to conform with expenditure
1 3 limitation practices commenced in 1992 under Iowa's general
1 4 fund expenditure limitation law and to enact a budget for the
1 5 fiscal year beginning July 1, 2000, that is in conformance
1 6 with generally accepted accounting principles and that
1 7 maintains the maximum balances authorized under law for the
1 8 Iowa economic emergency fund and the cash reserve fund and
1 9 foregoes any appropriation from the two funds.
1 10 This Joint Resolution, being deemed of immediate
1 11 importance, takes effect upon enactment.
1 12 EXPLANATION
1 13 This joint resolution affirms the commitment of the general
1 14 assembly and the governor to conform with Iowa's general fund
1 15 expenditure limitation law and to enact a budget for fiscal
1 16 year 2000-2001 that is in conformance with generally accepted
1 17 accounting principles and that maintains the maximum balances
1 18 authorized under law for the Iowa economic emergency fund and
1 19 the cash reserve fund and foregoes any appropriation from the
1 20 two funds.
1 21 The joint resolution takes effect upon enactment.
