1 1 Section 1. Section 252B.9A, subsection 7, Code 1999, is
1 2 amended to read as follows:
1 3 7. The unit may adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A to
1 4 prescribe provisions in addition to or in lieu of the
1 5 provisions of this section to comply with federal requirements
1 6 for parent locator services or the safeguarding of
1 7 information. To the extent allowed under federal law, the
1 8 unit shall adopt rules which facilitate the receipt of
1 9 information by a private process server under this section for
1 10 the purpose of enforcing child support orders.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill requires the child support recovery unit to adopt
1 13 rules to the extent allowed by federal law to facilitate the
1 14 receipt of information through the federal parent locator
1 15 service by private process servers for the purpose of
1 16 enforcing a child support order.
