  1  1    Section 1.  Section 422.45, Code Supplement 1999, is
  1  2 amended by adding the following new subsection:
  1  3    NEW SUBSECTION.  57.  The gross receipts from the sale of
  1  4 burial caskets, vaults, and interment receptacles used for
  1  5 human remains and from the sale of markers, tombstones,
  1  6 ornamental merchandise, and monuments used to mark or identify
  1  7 human graves or remains.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill exempts from sales and use taxes the sale of
  1 10 burial caskets, vaults, interment receptacles, and tombstones
  1 11 used for human remains.
