1 1 Section 1. Section 49.21, Code 1999, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 3 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. On the day of an election, the
1 4 commissioner shall post a sign stating "vote here" at the
1 5 entrance to each driveway leading to the building where a
1 6 polling place is located. The sign must be visible from the
1 7 street or highway fronting the driveway, but shall not
1 8 encroach upon the right-of-way of such street or highway.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill requires that the county commissioner of
1 11 elections on the day of an election post a sign stating "vote
1 12 here" at each driveway entrance leading to the building where
1 13 a polling place is located. The bill requires that the signs
1 14 be visible from the street or highway fronting the driveway.
