  1  1    Section 1.  Section 514I.8, subsection 2, paragraph c, Code
  1  2 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    c.  Is a member of a family whose adjusted gross income
  1  4 does not exceed one two hundred eighty-five percent of the
  1  5 federal poverty level, as defined in 42 U.S.C. } 9902(2),
  1  6 including any revision required by such section.
  1  7    Sec. 2.  Section 514I.10, subsection 2, Code 1999, is
  1  8 amended to read as follows:
  1  9    2.  Cost sharing for eligible children whose family
  1 10 adjusted gross income is between one hundred fifty percent and
  1 11 one two hundred eighty-five percent of the federal poverty
  1 12 level shall include a premium or copayment amount which is at
  1 13 least a minimum amount but which does not exceed five percent
  1 14 of the annual family adjusted gross income.  The amount of the
  1 15 premium or the copayment amount shall be based on a sliding
  1 16 fee scale established by rule which is based on family
  1 17 adjusted gross income and the size of the family.  
  1 18                           EXPLANATION 
  1 19    This bill increases the percentage of the federal poverty
  1 20 level which a family's income must not exceed to enable a
  1 21 child be eligible for participation in the healthy and well
  1 22 kids in Iowa program from 185 percent to 200 percent of the
  1 23 federal poverty level.  The bill also makes a conforming
  1 24 change to provide for cost sharing by enrollees between 150
  1 25 and 200 percent of the poverty level.
