  1  1    Section 1.  Section 321.237, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code
  1  2 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    A traffic ordinance or regulation enacted under section
  1  4 321.236, subsection 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, or 13 of section
  1  5 321.236 shall not be effective until signs, giving notice of
  1  6 such local traffic regulations as specified in the department
  1  7 manual on uniform traffic-control devices, are posted upon or
  1  8 at the entrances to the highway or part thereof affected as
  1  9 may be most appropriate and shall be erected at the expense of
  1 10 the local authority.  
  1 11                           EXPLANATION 
  1 12    This bill requires local authorities, in order to enforce
  1 13 local traffic regulations restricting or prohibiting the
  1 14 turning of vehicles at and between intersections, to erect
  1 15 signs giving notice of the traffic regulations.
