  1  1    Section 1.  Section 716.8, subsection 1, Code 1999, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    1.  Any person who knowingly trespasses upon the property
  1  4 of another commits a simple misdemeanor punishable as provided
  1  5 in section 903.1 except that if a fine is imposed, the fine
  1  6 shall not exceed two hundred fifty dollars.  
  1  7                           EXPLANATION 
  1  8    This bill provides that the maximum fine for knowingly
  1  9 trespassing on the property of another is increased to $250.
  1 10 Currently under Code section 903.1, the maximum fine for a
  1 11 simple misdemeanor is $100.
