1 1 Section 1. Section 455G.9, subsection 1, Code 1999, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new paragraph:
1 3 NEW PARAGRAPH. j. One hundred percent of the costs of
1 4 corrective action incurred by a governmental subdivision in
1 5 connection with a release which contaminates soil and
1 6 groundwater in a public right-of-way and which is encountered
1 7 during the installation, repair, or maintenance of a public
1 8 improvement.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This bill relates to the remedial account of the Iowa
1 11 comprehensive petroleum underground storage tank fund.
1 12 The bill provides that the remedial account shall cover 100
1 13 percent of the costs of a corrective action for a governmental
1 14 subdivision in connection with a release which contaminates
1 15 soil and groundwater in a public right-of-way and which is
1 16 encountered during the installation, repair, or maintenance of
1 17 a public improvement.
