  1  1    Amend Senate File 2430, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 16, by inserting before line 31, the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  STATE FIRE MARSHAL'S OFFICE.  In
  1  6 addition to any allocation of full-time equivalent
  1  7 positions authorized by the Seventy-eighth General
  1  8 Assembly during the 2000 Session for the state fire
  1  9 marshal's office, for the fiscal year beginning July
  1 10 1, 2000, and ending June 30, 2001, 1.00 additional FTE
  1 11 position is authorized for the office for inspections
  1 12 of aboveground petroleum storage tanks."
  1 13    #2.  Page 17, by inserting after line 27 the
  1 14 following:
  1 15    "Sec.    .  Section 101.22, subsection 4, Code
  1 16 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1 17    4.  The registration notice of the owner or
  1 18 operator to the state fire marshal under subsections 1
  1 19 through 3 shall be accompanied by a fee of ten dollars
  1 20 for each tank included in the notice.  All moneys
  1 21 collected shall be deposited in the general fund
  1 22 retained by the department of public safety and are
  1 23 appropriated for the use of the state fire marshal.
  1 24 The annual renewal fee applies to all owners or
  1 25 operators who filed a registration notice with the
  1 26 state fire marshal pursuant to subsections 1 through
  1 27 3.
  1 28    Sec.    .  Section 101.24, subsection 1, unnumbered
  1 29 paragraph 1, Code 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1 30    Inspect and investigate the facilities and records
  1 31 of owners and operators of aboveground petroleum
  1 32 storage tanks with a capacity of twelve thousand or
  1 33 more gallons, as necessary to determine compliance
  1 34 with this division and the rules adopted pursuant to
  1 35 this division.  An inspection or investigation shall
  1 36 be conducted subject to subsection 4.  For purposes of
  1 37 developing a rule, maintaining an accurate inventory,
  1 38 or enforcing this division, the department may:"
  1 39    #3.  Title page, line 1, by striking the word "for"
  1 40 and inserting the following:  "involving state
  1 41 government, including provisions affecting".
  1 42    #4.  By renumbering as necessary.
