1 5 "6. IMMIGRATION SERVICE CENTERS
1 6 For salaries, support, maintenance, and
1 7 miscellaneous purposes for the establishment of pilot
1 8 immigration service centers:
1 9 .................................................. $ 200,000
1 10 The department of workforce development, through
1 11 its existing service delivery system, shall establish
1 12 pilot immigration service centers that shall offer
1 13 one-stop services to deal with the multiple issues
1 14 related to immigration and employment. Centers shall
1 15 be designed to support workers, businesses, and
1 16 communities with information and technical assistance
1 17 on such issues as forms and documentation,
1 18 translation, language training, job placement
1 19 assistance, and resettlement. Through coordination of
1 20 local, state, and federal service providers, these
1 21 centers shall seek to provide a seamless service
1 22 delivery system for new Iowans."
