  1  1    Amend House File 2409 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 6, by inserting after line 2 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  1999 Iowa Acts, chapter 136, section
  1  5 14, subsection 3, is amended to read as follows:
  1  6    3.  REPORT.  Not later than December 15, 1999 2000,
  1  7 the commission shall submit to the general assembly a
  1  8 report of the activities of the commission, together
  1  9 with a draft of legislation recommended by the
  1 10 commission to reform the campaign finance disclosure
  1 11 and related laws for consideration by the general
  1 12 assembly in the year 2000 2001 according to the
  1 13 provisions of this Act.
  1 14    Sec.    .  1999 Iowa Acts, chapter 136, section 15,
  1 15 is amended to read as follows:
  1 16    SEC. 15.  ASSIGNMENT OF LEGISLATION.  The
  1 17 legislation drafted by the commission shall be filed
  1 18 with each chamber on the first day of the legislative
  1 19 session beginning in the year 2000 2001, and
  1 20 immediately assigned to the committee on state
  1 21 government in each chamber."
  1 22    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
