1 7 "1993 Iowa Acts, chapter 158, shall provide mental
1 8 health and substance abuse treatment coverage benefits
1 9 and shall not impose limitations on financial terms
1 10 for coverage of services for serious mental illnesses
1 11 or substance abuse if similar limitations are not
1 12 imposed on the coverage benefits for services for
1 13 medical or surgical conditions, and if either of the
1 14 following is satisfied:"

1 25 or a drug that causes impairment in social or

1 27 physiological dependency evidenced by physical
1 28 tolerance or by physical symptoms when the alcohol or
1 29 drug is withdrawn."
1 30 #6. Page 2, line 2, by striking the words
1 31 "biologically based" and inserting the following:

1 33 #7. Page 3, by inserting after line 11 the
1 34 following:
1 35 "7A. A group policy is exempt from this section
1 36 upon submission to the commissioner of evidence
1 37 demonstrating a premium increase for the policy term
1 38 in excess of three percent as a result of the
1 39 requirements of this section."
1 40 #8. Page 3, by inserting after line 15 the
1 41 following:
1 42 "9. This section is repealed effective July 1,
1 43 2003."
1 44 #9. Title page, by striking line 2 and inserting
